The name of this project is a tribute to "Le Canard Enchaîné" (literally: The chained duck), a famous satirical French newspaper. Conveniently, Canada uses a big duck as one of its symbols (our one dollar coin in called "Loonie", in reference to the loon depicted on one side).

This Loon was officially unchained on February 24th, 2022, following the outrageous invasion of Ukraine by Russia. Earlier satirical cartoons from the Covid-19 early years are posted too.
